Next to making books I work with Film & TV production and this weekend I was invited to film PECHA KUCHA at “Feast your eyes” Gallery in Fremantle. Pecha Kucha meaning “Chit chat” is a fabulous Japanese event that has spread around the world. It is an evening where anyone can present anything – but for a limited time! You get 20 slides with 20 seconds to talk to each slide. The presenters (and much of the audience) are usually from the design, architecture, photography & creative fields, but anyone can present – from grandma about her latest baking experience, to the great academic or adventurous globetrotter. You can compare it to a short film festival – you see a bunch of cool real stuff, then you have a break and chat to a bunch of cool real people, then you sit down and see a bunch of more cool real stuff.
Tara & Jess are the 2 gorgeous girls hosting the events here in Perth. They find different edgy locations for each event, this one was held in an urban grafitti-ed Gallery laneway in true Freo style. Over 150 people turned up to an event that only grows bigger and bigger. I already can’t wait for the next event. And I am sure that one day we’ll see a very first “Swept away by WANDERLUST” presentation, with a kick ass globe-trotter sharing her exciting travel moments with snapshots from her own “Swept away by WANDERLUST” journal on the screen!
The film from the last Pecha Kucha event Coming Soon. Like our Facebook to see it first.
I got caught in their big friendly Linis Photo Booth!
Smiles and laughter all around!
Whats a party without Candy Bracelets?

Walking home and taking a snap into the now empty lane way…
