Last night I did something pretty crazy that was completely unexpected and random for a Wednesday evening. I planked for 8:14 – Eight minutes & 14 seconds! – isn’t that incredible, I even set a record! I still can’t really comprehend it myself. Last year my good friend Elise recommended me to start this boxing/conditioning bootcamp she was doing. I loved the sound of getting heathier and toned, so I joined and committed to doing it 3 times a week. Last night was the final night of season one so we had fitness testing. I looked at my results from January this year and I planked for 2 minutes. I remember at the time I was so happy & thankful that I passed one minute, but when I got 2 I was ecstatic. But then three months later I held it for over eight minutes! This morning I am feeling like a little olympian, but mostly I am taken back by how amazing our bodies truly are and that they can get pushed beyond limits we can’t even mentally fathom. However, I could never have achieved this result without Kea Thorburn.
