We are very excited to say that we are now stocked in our (and so many others) absolutely favourite store in Byron Bay – AHOY TRADER. This popular store which is just a minute away from the beautiful Byron beach is jam packed with luscious island-life inspired treasures from local and Australian designers. A mix of textiles, cushions, scented candles, cool books, and trendy fashion makes the shop a treasure box. The store has a welcoming feel of painter’s studio, with the rustic walls full of vibrant tiles and designs made by the owner and incredible artist himself – Jai Vasicek.
The playful name ‘AHOY TRADER’ comes from Jai’s childhood which he spent sailing the world on his family boat for over 10 years- Ship AHOY. This is also where he got a lot of his inspiration for his art. With the ocean running in his veins his art features vibrant colours and layers of print and patterns inspired by the sea and nature. Shells, feathers, exotic creatures and female forms mixed with splashes of neon makes his pieces truly unique and we have absolutely fallen in love with Jai and his artwork! But we’re not the only one’s – his hand-painted crosses and colourful wall tiles are highly sought after. Their electric and expressive character have also won the hearts of Australia’s most stylish home decorators and savvy interior designers who are now commissioning him to create one of a kind artworks and decor pieces.
You can find Ahoy Trader on Marvel St in Byron – opposite Bay Leaf Cafe. Or check out Jai’s Instagram @jaivasicek.

We can now reveal that we are stocked in the gift guru of Oxford Street – Opus Design Co. As one of Australia’s leading retailers in novelties, gifts and homewares, the Opus brand has been around for 45 years. The latest creation of the brand is their ‘Opus Design Co’ store which consists of a bright and careful curation of furniture, the latest homewares and quirky design pieces you want to dress your home with.
“The world is already filled to the brim with boring stuff, so why would we add to that pile?” asks Opus Director Chris Tourgelis. “Instead, we take pride in scouring the globe for things that are unique, quirky and downright awesome”.
Strolling around their pretty store we can’t anything but agree , with a stylish yet quirky feel to this vibrant and colourful space it is down right awesome, and with sister store ‘Opus’ a few doors up the street this is the ultimate one-stop Christmas shop.
The water is magical, always making us feel amazing @ Readleaf, Rose Bay – Australia gorgeous hidden gem.
Welcome to Lady Bonin’s magical tea caravan. This free spirit dreamt about opening a tea house as a healthy alternative to all the coffee shops out there. Without much capital she came up with a cheaper unique alternative. In true gypsy style she now travels all around Cape Town with her unique bohemian tea caravan. Being absolute in love with herbal teas we fell head over heels for both Lady Bonin & her retro caravan and can’t wait to visit this free-spirited girl and indulge in her fragrant tea sorts.
If you’re in South Africa you cant miss this! On Saturday’s you’ll find her at Neighbourgoods Market in Woodstock or here:
