A Guide to London’s Best Instagram-worthy Spots

Posted by on

So you've booked a trip to London and can’t wait to snap some of the incredible places you visit on your journey? Well you're in luck, because our super creative and talented graphic designer Jillian recently escaped Sydney's winter for all of London's hidden gems. In this guide, she explores all the best photo spots around London; ones that aren't your typical, cookie-cutter tourist spots. We promise you'll want to add them all to your bucket list, and will leave your friends wanting to add these places to theirs too.

1. Peggy Porschen

Calling all pink lovers! If you love pink as much as we do,  pop by this dainty bakery and try a classic Victoria sponge cake; a British fave. Not only do they sell fancy cakes, but they're also known for their creative cupcakes, small sweet treats as well as tea and champagne. What more could you ask for?!

2. The Shop at Bluebird

This British concept store is not your typical luxury department store. Decked out in bright, natural light, greenery and rustic finishes, you'll feel like you've been transported to a quaint country-house, rather than somewhere you’d break the bank. If high-end shopping isn't up your alley, they have a section for hipster magazines, books and unique items that will sit perfectly on your coffee table back at home.

3. Sketch

Sipping on pink sparkling in a pink room, indulging in unlimited high tea, a live band and doing your business inside an egg... if this isn't what dreams are made of, then we don't know what is. Combining food, drinks, music and art, Sketch London is the perfect place to pay homage to the British tradition of afternoon tea - but in a different and quirky way.

4. Oxford Street

While you shop your heart out on Oxford St, take a snap in the most famous street in London. Nothing screams London more than this, and something about those extravagant buildings and abundance of iconic red double deckers makes the strip such an aesthetic photo op.

5. Covent Garden

Are you a floral fanatic? Londoners know how to do floral installations best, especially in Covent Garden. Installations are always changing by the season and occasion, so be sure to check out what they have on show when you're in town. And get some boutique shopping around the area while you're at it because there are some adorable stores you might not be able to find back at home.

6. Kew Gardens

This beautiful and peaceful botanic garden tucked away on the outskirts of London will make you feel like you're a character in a Jane Austen novel, with all its green acreage, tall, lush trees and scented flora. It's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city with Jillian's favourite part being the Victorian glasshouses for breathtaking scenery that will make your Instagram feed pop.

7. Pachamama East

Join the brunch club and spend your Saturday morning indulging in Pachamama's extensive waffle menu. From savoury to sweet, their waffles will make you (and your Insta followers) drool as they're almost too pretty to eat! The hip Peruvian-inspired casual dining spot is crossed between elegant and shabby chic, infusing serious loft vibes and making it the perfect weekend date with the girls.

It's the perfect opportunity to curate your own London bucket list with some of these items we've just shared with you. And we might be a tad biased, but we think our journals will make the perfect addition to your Instagram feed while you’re exploring away in London.
