It’s been a busy few weeks for me, first a new job last week and then this week moving house! We moved to Sunbeam Way in east Perth’s Claisebrook Cove which is one of my favorite spots in Perth! And I am just in love with the address! We lived in the same apartment complex 3 years ago so it feels like coming home. The best thing is that my job is literally 100 m away on the same street! Sweet! I am the worst at being on time so hopefully this will help. I now work as a news director for ABC again. (Same thing as I did in Sydney). I was lucky that a directors position opened up here in Perth, because they started to send a national news bulletin at 5.30pm. Otherwise it happens like-never! It has been fun to see how they work here and lots to learn. Now I am trained up to do the 7pm by myself which feels great! So now it’s unpacking the house to make it homey and cosy which is next on the list!
During these last few weeks I have pretty much left Ash to take care of everything about the book – and she is a rock at it! Thank you dear.. Not long until we are there now!
I had an appointment in Subiaco this morning followed by a long cosy Friday Brunch at The walk Cafe. Caught up on some work over a yum apple mint salad, sourdough bread and a healthy juice. Then I strolled around cosy Subiaco, found a unique book store and chatted to the lovely owner who told me her son is working in Sweden as a chef! We had a long chat and it’s so interesting to hear about Sweden from a foreigners point of view. Scootered back home with a new pair of shoes in the basket too! What a great start on a Friday! /Axel
The weekend that just passed was one of our close friends birthday, and for a gift we we wanted to get her a coffee table, although something which was a little different than Ikea (although we do still very much love the Swedish designs !). When we looked on gumtree we found this cute coffee table, which was painted a crisp white, and made from recycled pallets. At first I thought someone was selling just the one on it’s own. However, when we enquired, I spoke to Josie the lovely creator herself. Here, I learnt that Josie actually infact has just started to make this beautiful business, called ‘Made by Pallet’. Stemmed from love, and the passion to be creative and re-use materials Josie setup some space in an old warehouse in Mosman, and is now putting together these stylish tables to share with us all. Putting something like this together looks easy, and would be lots of fun, but unfortunately takes alot of time. So, if you don’t have time, definitely a worthwhile purchase. Can’t wait to have one in our future office !

A little bit of a break & enter to surprise her !
And then Bellissimo – drinking tea with a gorgeous new table !
HAPPY FRIDAY !
We are loving this months collectors edition of Vogue Australia. Cover: Lara StoneFound a pair of Christian Dior sunglasses I would absolutely love ! and to replace (Ash) the ones I lost. I had my Dior sunglasses for 3 years. It was the first time I had lost them. I was at the theatre and forgot to pick them up underneath my seat. A week later someone was kind and returned them. However, two days after getting them back they disappeared when I was at dinner ! I don’t think I was meant to have them anymore…
Love Ralph Lauren Hat.
The best by FAR recommended purchase is definitely the CocoCut ! Looking for one for a while, but always slipped my mind. Thank goodness, no longer have to use the largest knife in the block, and scare friends away when I begin hacking at it. This coconut cutter looks brilliant and could be perhaps one of the best $29 spent ! www.cococut.com.
New G-Star Boyfriend blazer added to the wish list.
An inspiring read on entrepreneur/designer Hannah Bronfman – 25 years old has New York and the rest of the world at her feet. Also, great article with Lara Stone, and inline with the celebrations of Carnival some nice spreads with Liu Wen.
However, my favourite by far of this month’s issue is the old 1990 cinematic portraits of:- Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patiz, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford taken by the legendary photographer Peter Lindbergh.
To pencil in Love Vintage show – Sydney 15-17 March
Passing by the newsagent noticed Harpers Bazaar – also have a great collectors edition – 15th Anniversay !
It was crazy, all week the weather was forecasted 90% rain for Sunday. Yiks, they couldn’t have been anymore wrong… The day was absolutely perfect ! Wine, salad, uhhh a massive fruit birthday cake ! ? some chocolate brownies and the best short-films in Australia.. Cest la Vie ! They estimated 92,000 + in the Domain – incredible. I don’t know how Sam Worthington chose between 1st & 2nd – they were truly both amazing. My favourite was definitely Better than Sinatra. (Can’t wait to come across Raymond dancing in the city one day). Looking forward and hope to see one of Hanna’s films as a finalist next year !
It’s absolutely beautiful in Sydney today ! and perfect for some red wine in the domain watching the largest short-film festival in the world – TROPFEST !
Get down early at 3:20, and you will see a favourite band of ours – Round the Corner perform live. We met these lovely guys at a charity event, and they are here rockin it at Tropfest ! They have a great beat that is a mix of indie rock and gritty pop. With soaring vocals, clever lyrics and delicious melodies – you will love dancing to them also !
Arrived. Editing today – the final proof-read !
