I was just read this great article in this weeks TIME re: ‘Kickstarter’. Kickstarter is an incredibly inspiring and distinguished concept. It was designed to give those who have innovative ideas a chance to make them into a reality.
The company was established by the enthusiasm and passion of a guy named Perry Chen who wanted to throw a late night party to coincide with the New Orleans jazz festival. He put his idea to out to everybody he knew, and soon he had people donating small amounts because they too wanted to have the party, and was willing to help to make it happen. In the end he didn’t solicit enough money, and the event didn’t happen, but the notion stayed in his mind, and years later he met a music journalist Yancy Strickler and designer Charles Adler who both loved his idea, they then became the co-founders, and Kickstarter debuted in April 2009.
The company is now the highest-profile website engaged in crowd funding. Basically, the way it works is that you put your idea on the site, and the amount you need to fund your project. If you get enough people liking and donating towards your idea, you get the money to fund it. The best part I love is that no idea is crazy, they include everything from some guy who wants to create a board game to a filmaker who wanted to always produce a documentary.
So if you have something on your mind – do it ! Check out the site, you never know how many people like your idea. Sometimes you just need that small hand to help you start, and make your dreams come true. x

My grandfather sadly passed away last week. I just want to thank my family and friends who have showed endless support during this period. The kindness and empathy you all have provided has been overwhelming, yet bought comfort that I can’t thank you enough for.
With my grandfather’s passing I realised that it doesn’t matter how old or how young a person is, when you loose someone you love that feeling of lost will never go away, as it’s the spirit, that personality, that voice, that life which is gone forever. Unfortunately, he won’t get to read the book on his life when I do finally finish, but I am looking forward to writing the rest of his amazing, brave, crazy and beautiful life he lived.

Will always be OK with a coconut. They take you on a holiday no matter where you are in the world. Coconuts are a fiesta. x
I was cleaning out my room today and came across Hanna’s favourite book. When I say favourite I mean favourite! Every time we would discuss layouts or pictures, she would flick through the chic, modern & stylish book. Saying ‘just like this page’… I would laugh every time, so Swedish. So sending some Bondi love across the Indian Ocean.

I am up in our second home in the middle of the forest with mum and Thomas for the weekend. It’s so relaxing and calm. We are cooking amazing meals, walking the dogs, chilling in the sun, listening to music, doing crosswords. It is lovely. Tomorrow we are going to a real old style auction and some garage (farm) sales on the way. It is so cool there, all the countryside people trading old items in a barn in the middle of nowhere!
Right now I am working though. Not that I would call it work. I love designing our book – especially when I have no time limits what so ever.
I’d call this paradise.
