Walking out of Martin Place station this morning was incredibly lovely as I was taken aback by the enchanting Christmas decorations lining the centre. Christmas was officially in the air. I couldn’t help but smile as I love the feeling Christmas brings, as no matter how old we get, it just has this way to make you nostalgic for when you were young… receiving all these gifts for no real reason other than it was ‘Christmas’ and, there is a big man in a red suit called ‘Santa’ who gives us gifts with the help of his reindeers. Jeeez… how fun would it be to return to those carefree days where our biggest worry in the world, was how do we choose from either a bicycle or Barbie’s Ferrari ?

However, other than being charmed by the decorations, it was also a gentle reminder of what the date was. It is the beginning of December, which Christmas for adults means…  parties, shopping, picnics, eating, drinking, work, more eating, more drinking, more shopping, swimming, fun in the beautiful sun (maybe not today, what’s with this weather?), coconuts. etc. etc. Thinking all of this was quite overwhelming, and could give anyone an anxiety attack. It didn’t, but it did confirm that unfortunately our book will not be ready before Christmas as much as we would have loved it to be, and which we aimed for. We couldn’t have done anything different to get it done quicker. Hanna knew this would be the case, yet I think she loved how optimistic and determined I was that it could be done. Perhaps, this was to ensure I worked harder ? ? …

The book is almost there though, yesterday completely flew by as I was working on it for most of the day. We are in the final stages – getting it checked by the editor, finalizing the pictures, design. etc. We are hoping to launch it in January/February next year, which is really close, exciting and a bit surreal…

Going to leave with a random question for the day… ‘What are your 50 things that are Ace?’ Article I read in Frankie Magazine last night…

Also, a great interview with Beth Ditto. Reading her interview, I was captivated by how down to earth she is, also has some beautiful advice.
