What a launch and fantastic night we had last night! One of the most memorable nights of our lives. We cant believe all the friends, family and gorgeous supporters that came and made our night magical. Pictures will be up soon but today we are just going to relax for the first time in many weeks and enjoy Sydney life with beautiful friends! You’ll find us here!
It’s all happening. Right now we are at Berkelouw Books – Paddington store. It’s setup time for the official launch party of our new book “Swept away by WANDERLUST”. In less than 2 hours we are expecting 150 people that includes friends, family, media and bloggers. As we speak the stage is being built, books are getting showcased, the band is setting up, champagne bottles are opening and the catering is getting read. We have little side tables with little surprises for our guests and the red carpet is soon to be rolled out – all whilst we are running around excited and making sure the finising touches are completed.
We are playing, preparing and running all around Bondi and Paddington buying all the props and stuff for tomorrows grande party in a big rush but we still have time to laugh and have fun!
Wow! It’s crazy, 12 months later it’s here. We are so stoked to have finished and achieved this dream. We are sitting in the alley way flicking through our book for the first time. It’s sureal to say it’s ours. It’s looking fabulous and we love everybit of it – even the parts that we think could have been better 😉
2 months ago we gave the go ahead to print ‘Swept away by Wanderlust’. Today, they just got the book delivered – they day before for the official launch! pheewww and wooo hooo ! Some excited peeps. As we are in a rush to shoot a few shots for the promotional film for the launch tomorrow we are going out to the back alley to sit down in the evening sun and view it together for the first time. It smells so new.
Started today at 4 am and now it’s almost 4am again but got a lot done. Flew to Sydney, worked through the whole flight, arrived at Reetta’s beach pad in Clovelly at 2pm and soon got accompanied by Salleigh and Nathan and went for lunch in my missed Bondi. Tried Lox Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels (or whatever the new joint is called.) Had a fantastic Lox sandwich and some raw food balls at the cafe few doors down, oh how I missed the Bondi food! And Salleigh! Soo good to see this gorgeous chic. Realized we were holding hands like a loving couple in the back of the car haha.
Lovely Nathan acted taxi and drove me to Berkelouw where we had a Event meeting with our photographers, artists and staff at 6.30pm. It was so great to meet everyone after alot of email correspondence. A mix match of fantastic passionate personalities and we are so glad to have them all on board! And how great it was to see Ash and Nicole (one of our best friends who’s gonna sing at the launch)! Barely any time to catch up though.. Work work work..
Discussed menus, the schedule, camera shots, equipment, entertainment, music, drinks, positioning, lighting etc. until 10pm! As we got kicked out of the store as they were closing I was lucky enough to hitch a ride with Reetta as she was passing by in the cab on the way home from work! Lucky I have workaholic friends! Off home to Reetta’s to work even more with Reetta’s fantastic help! and now a well needed sleep before a full day tomorrow. Gonna try to remember to snap some more shots tomorrow!
I (Ash) met Elise whilst traveling in London through a common friend. Elise had being living in London for the past year and was working as a P.A for the exuberant and formidable Darryn Lyons aka Mr Paparazzi (yes, the one who got ab implants!). My first encounter with Elise was that her life seemed like something you would see out of a movie. At 22 Elise was mature far beyond her years. She knew every social event happening and every cool, hip, rubbish and low-key bar, and what restaurant to go/not to go in London. Then as a reward for being incredibly patient and kind with a boss who wasn’t so much – she was showered in luxury gifts and sent to St Tropez, South of France as a holiday weekend!
Today, Elise is the Media & Brand Sponsorships Manager for Time Out – and god is she good at it! So good that Google asked her to be the face of their business campaign. Elise is truly a beautiful inspiration and a perfect example of the hard-working, passionate, kind and stylish women! There is nothing she won’t try (well at least once) and no-one she won’t smile at. When she isn’t hosting Time Out Shakedown or Taste Test she is doing other wild and crazy things like running full marathon’s and competing in Triatholon’s. She is the gorgeous, fit, life loving, intelligent, beautiful modern chic woman of today!
Ahhh getting a little nostalgic. Just found these polaroids from the shoot we did for Swept away by Wanderlust with Nicole Kinner last October.
